Artist Statement
Growing up in New York City amongst the millions of lights is when I developed a fascination for light and how it reflects and cast shadows. The word “Photography” derives from the Greek, “Photos” meaning “Light” and “Graphe” meaning “Drawing”. Photography has become my personal exploration of light and it’s the creativity of using light to shine on my subject that excites me the most. The slightest change in the illumination or shape of a light source can have a profound impact on an image. The images in my portfolio aren’t landmarks, they're just POI (point-of-interest) on a map of development. I see this as self-discovery, as I continue on this personal journey exploring the possibilities with light while creating art through the lens.
